Tyre Nichols arrest video to be launched by metropolis of Memphis

Tyre Nichols’ stepfather, Rodney Wells, described the video of his son’s arrest, telling CNN that “one officer kicked him like he was kicking a soccer, a few instances.”

“They’ve this little like stick, this steel factor that they pull out,” Wells instructed CNN’s Don Lemon. “They pull out — like an antenna. I noticed them pull that out and began beating my son with it. And I noticed officers hitting on him, I noticed officers kicking him.”

Wells added that officers didn’t render support to his son.

“Probably the most telling factor in regards to the video to me was the truth that it was perhaps 10 officers on the scene and no one tried to cease it and even after they beat him and so they propped him up in opposition to the automobile, nobody rendered support to him in anyway,” he mentioned. “They walked round, smoking cigarettes prefer it was all calm.”

“He was sitting there, after which he slumped over. And an officer walked over to him and mentioned, ‘sit again up mom – mf,’ you already know, whereas he is handcuffed. So, he needed to, they prop him again up, and he slumped over once more, and so they prop him again up once more, however nobody was rendering support,” he continued.

“I noticed some fireplace division individuals come on the market and so they simply walked round and no one confirmed him any support, and so they speculated to be skilled in first support. By the point the paramedic truck pulled up, that is after we could not see something as a result of the paramedic truck blocked the digital camera,” Wells mentioned.
